Post Production: Editing the Film

Now I have finished filming my 'How to make a cup of tea' movie I'm going to move on to editing it whilst adhering to the brief, this is "Must contain at least 30 edits" and "Must be in between 15 and 20 seconds" these very specific and strict guidelines make it a challenge to successfully edit this movie.

The programme i will be using to edit is Final Cut Pro this is the professional standard used by most big companies today when editing movies, however it is also extremely user friendly it is simple to use and understand and get to grips with the basics which makes it ideal for project like this where the is only going to be some basic clip cutting and some colour correction.

The main tool I will be using is the blade tool, this is a good effective way of separating either a movie or audio clip into smaller segments that you can position more easily. You simply cut down the playhead where you want the clip/audio to end and its done!

In the screenshot below you can see how I have removed the default audio track on the video and added my own personal sound effects you can see the cuts in the blue and green track correlate exactly as this is where that edit ends. This may look fairly large scale however it is actually just the space of 4 seconds in this screenshot, quite a lot.
